The Regards Ensemble was born from the meeting of five composers: Juan Arroyo, Florent C. Darras, Keita Matsumiya, Vincent Trollet and Hiromi Watanabe. It was by exchanging their point of view during the various meetings, known as “Les Mercredis de la rue Victor Hugo”, that convergences appeared between them, in particular on the need to deepen their reflection on musical creation.

It is with the aim of creating a situation conducive to the expression of these ideas that they surround themselves with high-level performers as well as creators from different artistic disciplines. Ensemble Regards performed for the first time on September 20, 2013 in Paris at the Lutheran Church of the Redemption.

One of the Ensemble’s concerns is to offer the public original and varied concert formats, underlined by visual work. They offer a renewed relationship to artistic creation through the dialogue between the work of performers, the use of computer music and the participation of artists from diverse backgrounds. This practice is part of a broader reflection: the relationship between today’s creator and the society in which his action takes place.
